Gotalk uses the Telstra ADSL2+ network which has ADSL2+ available in 1400 exchanges across Australia that are equipped with ADSL2+ infrastructure and in addition gotalk has access to further 1300 exchanges that can deliver broadband speeds up to 8Mbps. This is fantastic news for people all across Australia. gotalk provides Australia with cheap broadband plans. gotalk has both ADSL and ADSL2+ plans available, and if your phone exchange has been ADSL2+ enabled then gotalk will be able to provide you with super fast ADSL2+ speeds of up to 20000 kbps (20 Mbps). This is nearly 80 times faster than 256k broadband.

gotalk broadband plans are shown below. Depending on customer’s exchange and other technical factors customer will receive either ADSL or ADSL2+ plans as shown. The good news is that gotalk will give you a free upgrade to gotalk ADSL2+ once it is available in your area through our provider.

~Monthly charge is only applicable when the broadband plan is combined with an eligible gotalk phone service. If eligible gotalk phone service is not combined then a monthly surcharge of $10 will be applied. These plans are not available on a stand alone basis.
*Your connection speed will be shaped to 64 kbps once either the peak or the off peak data allowance has been exceeded. The connection speed will be restored at the start of the new billing period.

# In case you have been shaped or are about to be shaped, customers have the ability to purchase additional data blocks (1GB -$5, 5GB -$15, 10GB -$30, 15GB -$45). Any unused data block will be forfeited at the end of the month.

Monthly Access Charge
Monthly access charge is the monthly subscription fee for your plan. This charge does not include excess download and other additional charges.

Download Quota
Download Quota means the amount of data you can download during one billing month. Unused allowance is forfeited.

Shaping
Once the specified monthly download quota is reached, download speed is reduced to the "shaping" speed until the end of the billing month. Shaping allows you to download even when you go over monthly download quota and protect you from unexpected excess download charges.

Please Note: New ADSL/ADSL2+ plans are available to customers who do not have any ADSL code on their line. To register for the gotalk ADSL or ADSL2+ plans, you will receive a new account with gotalk including a new username and email address.

It can take up to 21 days to get connected to gotalk broadband service.

Please note, further checks will be made once your application is submitted:

  • The telephone line you have provided is active & belongs to the TELSTRA Network

  • The exchange you connect to has available capacity

  • There is no incompatible product on the telephone line you have provided (e.g. part of a rotary group or commander system, have conference call facility, or PABX)

  • The cabling infrastructure between the exchange and your premises is compatible with ADSL2+ service (incompatible infrastructure inc. RIM, PGS, Sub-Exchange)

  • You are not using a pre paid telephone line
